Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I send you my files?
A: Most files are emailed to us directly at milanptg@verizon.net! For larger jobs, services like Dropbox and Google Drive can also be used. Apple Air Drop is available in person, as is physical document scanning. There is an upload feature planned for milanprinting.net, but it has yet to be implemented.
Q: What file formats do you need?
A: Most common image and document files are fine, although we prefer PDF, PNG, TIF, and JPG. We accept Microsoft Word documents, but cannot guarantee fonts or formatting will stay the same.
Q: What is "bleed" and why might my images need it?
A: Bleed refers to the extra margin around an image intended for print. As printers cannot truly print to the edge of a page, all "borderless" or "full bleed" graphics needs to be trimmed during the finishing process. Bleed allows a margin of error for the cutter to ensure your design is reproduced faithfully. If you don't mind a blank 3/8" border around your image, you don't need to worry about bleed!
Q: How long will it take to print my project?
A: Turnaround time highly depends on the job and our current workload. Typically we will have your items ready to pick up within a week's time. If you're in a hurry, we will try our best to meet your deadline when possible.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We currently accept cash or check, but do no accept credit or debit cards. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Q: Why is it called Milan Printing?
A: The print shop was started by Cletus Milan! See our "About" page for the full story.
